You should have gotten an email from AAIDD about membership renewal and the new membership rates. AAIDD is working hard on helping people join in the ways that are customized for them. There are several levels: International ($50), Basic ($75), Classic ($125), Standard ($175) and Premium ($250).
The BIG NEWS for Religion and Spirituality Division members is two-fold:
First, Religion and Spirituality Division members have often been frustrated by feeling like they are paying for JIDD, the more scientific of the AAIDD journals. So, with Basic Membership at $75, you can opt for a membership level that lets you receive, electronically, one of the AAIDD journals. IDD often has articles related to policy, perspectives, and services that are important to people seeking to provide ministry in the wider field of intellectual and developmental disabilities. You can also join at higher levels if you want a hard copy of either journal or other benefits. See the AAIDD website for information on how to join.
Second, the additional fee for the Religion and Spirituality Division is now $30, instead of $10. With that fee, Religion and Spirituality Division members will receive an electronic subscription to the Journal of Religion, Disability and Health. If you were subscribing electronically to JRDH separately, it would be over $100. (Now, if you choose Basic Membership plus the Division, it will be less costly than AAIDD membership has been costing and it will give you two journals electronically: the AAIDD journal of your choice, and the Journal of Religion, Disability and Health.
We hope you will do two things. First, renew your membership! Second, share this with others who were former members, or who might like to become members but have been hindered by the cost, either of AAIDD membership and/or the Journal of Religion, Disability and Health.
