Welcome to the April 2015 edition of the Religion and Spirituality Division of AAIDD news. We are having a busy and productive year with our partnership with the National Collaborative on Faith and Disability Network Webinar Series.

I am pleased to announce that Barbara J. Newman is the Henri J. Nouwen Award 2015 honoree. Congratulations Barbara! Barbara will receive the Nouwen Award at our June 4 Religion and Spirituality Division Forum from 9-noon in Louisville following the AAIDD annual meeting. She will give a presentation about the impact on faith participation and engagement by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through her inspiring work. I want to thank Anne Masters, Immediate Past President of the Division, for her outstanding coordination and leadership of the nomination process.

As we gear up to attend the AAIDD Annual Conference in Louisville KY June 1-4, I urge you to read more about the conference and our Religion and Spirituality Division Forum and join many of our Division members. In addition to the Forum on June 4, we will hold our annual meeting on Tuesday, June 2 at 12:15 during lunch, and our annual dinner on Wednesday June 3 at 6pm at a unique Brazilian restaurant in the center of Louisville. All information and registration for Division events is available in the conference brochure.

Many members of the Religion and Spirituality Division will be presenting at the AAIDD conference in a session: Family, Culture, Faith and Outcomes on Tuesday, June 2 at 10:45 am. This promises to be an information-practice-and policy-packed morning. I hope you will join us there!

We have two members of our Division to congratulate! David Morstad and Erik Carter are new AAIDD Fellows and will be recognized at the AAIDD Annual Meeting! Congratulations to you both!

Please take some time to read our Division newsletter. Christopher Phillips, Bill Gaventa and Alyssa Green work diligently to bring this to you. I hope you will share it within your sphere of influence.

I look forward to welcoming you in Louisville!
